The Wedding Film of Kat & Ric at Hilltop Country House

Posted By: Sara
Filed under the category : Highlights Trailers

We were introduced to Kat & Ric by Janice; the fabulous wedding planner of Wonderful Weddings by JT. Working closely with the couple beforehand, Janice helped them plan every aspect of their wedding and on the day expertly and discreetly made sure everything ran smoothly. Originally Kat & Ric wanted a very small intimate wedding, well it grew in size, but they still managed to keep the intimacy of the day and did things their way. It was also great to be working alongside the delightful Lisa Aldersley Photography again; she has an effortless, relaxed romantic style.

Kat got ready in the White Room at the Hilltop Country House, a picturesque family run venue in the middle of the Cheshire countryside. It was lovely to be greeted by Clare & Martin when we arrived who took us on a little tour and made us feel right at home. Kat had two little flowers girls and a page boy, so she got ready with her mum and soon to be mother-in-law. Sam Caird of Belles & Beaus styled their hair and makeup. Kat’s intricate lace dress was by Maggie Sottero from bridal boutique Sense & Sensibility in Stockport and she wore a delectable pair of sparkly Jimmy Choo peep toe heels. Ric wore a dashing Paul Smith blue suit and to match the theme; a pink striped tie and he even had pink striped socks.

At some weddings the father of the bride is kept away until the very last minute, but I loved how Kat’s dad was there all the time Kat got ready and even laced up the back of her dress and put her veil on. In another special touch, Kat’s mum had commissioned a little keepsake of a message in a tiny bottle on a blue ribbon with a note from her parents. The day was all about family and Ric’s wedding ring was made from his Grandma’s wedding ring and Kat wore Ric’s family jewellery which had been passed down to her too.

The pink colour scheme was inspired by the fabulous French gourmet sweet makers Ladurée, who make world famous macarons. Everywhere was decorated with Ladurée ribbon, boxes, chocolate, sweets and macarons. The pink roses, peonies and other vintage country style flowers from Zuzu’s Petals looked beautiful and perfectly fitted the feel and theme of the wedding. I wish we had smellovision as the scent from the flowers and the rose and peonies candles which were lit in every room smelt utterly divine.

It was so lovely to be able to have the ceremony outside overlooking the gardens. Leos Strings played as Kat walked down the aisle. As soon as they saw each other they were all smiles and held onto each other so tightly. The way Ric looked at Kat all day with such affection was heart melting and sweet, they only had eyes for each other which really comes across in their footage.

After the ceremony guests were served Pimms with cute vintage pink striped straws on the terrace. There were giant board games, boules and croquet on the lawn to entertain the guests as well as Leos Strings. The wedding breakfast was in the Marquee which had been charmingly decorated with bunting, numerous candles and masses of flowers in the Ladurée theme. As Kat & Ric walked in they were showered with real dried petal confetti.

Kat’s dad and Ric’s brother spoke and toasted the happy couple with, of course, pink champagne or pink lemonade. Kat & Ric then cut the spectacular Patisserie Valerie Gâteaux de mariage wedding cake. It was such a lovely evening that Lisa took the couple to get a few gorgeous dusky shots. It was then time for the first dance to Take That’s Greatest Day. It was a really relaxed atmosphere and the guests chatted away or danced. We really hope you enjoy Kat & Ric’s wedding film highlights trailer at the Hilltop Country House.

The Wedding Film of Helen & Andrew at Soughton Hall

Posted By: Sara
Filed under the category : Highlights Trailers

We were really looking forward to Helen & Andy’s wedding at Soughton Hall because 5 years ago we filmed Andy’s brother’s wedding at Mere Court. This time around, Paul was the bestman and Kathryn a bridesmaid. It was also really lovely to see both sets of families again.

The snow might have looked magical and added something extra special with the blue skies and brilliant sunshine, but it also caused a few problems. The week before the wedding the weight of the snow had caused the existing marquee at Soughton Hall to collapse and they feared they might have to switch venues. Much to Helen & Andy’s relief Soughton Hall managed to organise a new marquee. Unfortunately the vintage London bus Helen & Andy had booked to transport the guests in style couldn’t get down the long drive way because of the snow laden trees, but it did give the guest the opportunity to take in the stunning views of the Hall.

Helen and her bridesmaids got ready at the spectacular Soughton Hall with Helen’s friend doing the hair and makeup by Makeup by Laura. Helen chose an astonishing Justin Alexander dress covered in lace from Puure Bride in Lymm which she teamed with beautiful nude Christian Louboutin peep toe heels. For good luck and her something blue, Helen’s mum sewed the very same little blue bow that was originally in her wedding dress into the bottom of Helen’s dress. The colour scheme for the vintage inspired wedding was an elegant cool grey; the bridesmaids wore three quarter length dresses with matching sparkly grey heels. The guy’s dapper suits were all from Groom.

The boys arrived at St Eurgain & St Peters Church on the London bus and went to wait in the pub across the road. As a wedding gift Helen had bought Andy an engraved Tiffany money clip. The rest of the guests were then collected on the bus. Helen arrived in a vintage grey Rolls Royce from Platinum wedding cars. The Church was decorated with baby’s breath which was also in all the buttonholes, corsages and bridesmaids bouquets. Andy just about held it together as the Thackeray string trio played as Helen walked down the aisle. Helen cried during her vows, but got through them with Andy’s help. I love the looks and beaming smiles they gave to each other during the ceremony.

After the confetti was thrown, it was a short drive on the London bus back to Soughton Hall where there was a drinks reception in the walled garden in the glorious sunshine, while Thackeray string trio played once again. The marquee for the wedding breakfast looked enchanting due to all the time and effort Helen had put into finding all the little objects and touches, including a wishing tree, post box, cigars for the boys and a whole table filled with Barratts sweets (the family name) in vintage sweet jars. The flowers were by The Green Room Flower Emporium. Andy’s sister made all the bunting that decorated the marquee and the really cute wedding cake; you wouldn’t believe she doesn’t do it for a living. During the wedding breakfast the very talented Gillan Edgar kept everyone entertained.

It was such a beautiful evening that after the speeches the photographers Richard & Verity from Cetra Photography took Helen & Andy into the garden for a few photos. The sunset and snow looked marvellous and Helen even had a quick go on the swing until Andy accidently nearly tipped her off. It was then back inside for the cutting of the cake and first dance which was to James Morrison’s I Won’t Let Go. Gillan Edgar and his band then got everyone dancing the night away. We really hope you enjoy Helen & Andy’s wedding film highlights trailer at Soughton Hall.

The Wedding Film of Tina & Gareth at Peckforton Castle

Posted By: Sara
Filed under the category : Highlights Trailers

We met Tina & Gareth at the Peckforton Castle wedding fair, but we actually only live two minutes away from each other in Padgate. Not only was it great to be back at the magical Peckforton Castle; but also to be working with so many excellent suppliers who we have had the pleasure of working with before including Caroline White Photography and toastmaster Stephen Sanders.

Tina and her bridesmaids got ready at the Castle, with the fabulous ladies from Flossy & Leigh Make-Up Artist Company making everyone look gorgeous. Tina’s exquisite hair accessory and the bridesmaids jewelled flower hair clips were made by the lovely Eleventh Heaven by Ann McKavney. Tina’s beautiful beaded bodice Hollywood Dreams dress was from The Wedding Shop Alderley Edge which she teamed with an elegant pair of white satin Jimmy Choo shoes. The bridesmaids all wore handmade ivory dresses and Gareth wore a dapper Phillip Alexander suit. It was really emotional when Tina’s dad saw her for the first time and a really special moment to capture on film. Just before they walked downstairs Tina’s dad put a sixpence in her shoe for good luck.

All the guests were waiting in the sunshine to watch Gareth and his bestman make their arrival by helicopter and land on the lawn within the Castle walls. We gave him a tiny camera so he could capture all the action, which showed the Castle in its spectacular setting on the hill overlooking Peckforton. The arch outside and The Great Hall looked magnificent decorated in lashings of luxurious white roses and orchids by the incredibly talented Red Floral Architecture. The bouquets were all white roses too but Tina’s was decorated with jewels to match her hair piece.

The Caldara String Quartet played as Tina walked down the aisle. I love how couples look at each during the vows it always gives me butterflies in my stomach. Tina & Gareth were all smiles during the service. After the ceremony they greeted their guests then strolled over to the Chapel for the blessing with a candle lighting ceremony. After the blessing there was a drinks reception in the sun outside the Coach House and the guests were entertained by the Caldara String Quartet and then the Peckforton Castle Falconry display.

The wedding breakfast was in the Drawing Room were Red Floral Architecture had added delicate glass baubles with candles to the sumptuous white roses centre pieces. The sitting plan and nameplates were by I Do Designs. The speeches were very funny, especially the bestman’s as we got to hear all about Gareth’s alter ego Gary and his drunken escapades, much to Gareth’s embarrassment!

The evening reception was in the Great Hall were Hipswing Entertainment provided the LED dance floor, lighting and DJ. Before the first dance which was to Fleetwood Mac’s Songbird; Tina & Gareth’s cut the cake made by one of the family. After the first dance Tina then had a dance with her dad which never fails to bring a tear to my eye and was another very special moment. The band The Versions then kicked off the dancing. We really hope you enjoy Tina & Gareth’s wedding film highlights trailer at Peckforton Castle.

The Wedding Film of Victoria & Adam at Peckforton Castle

Posted By: Sara
Filed under the category : Highlights Trailers

It was great to be back at the magnificent Peckforton Castle for the first time this year and what a day it was. It was a beautiful crisp March day, with blue skies, brilliant sunshine and a little bit of snow on the ground. It was also an extra special day as it was Victoria’s parents wedding anniversary too.

Victoria’s pretty Justin Alexander dress was from Puure Bride in Lymm. As was the groom’s, usher’s suits and the bridesmaid’s dresses. Hair by James tamed the ladies tresses and they had their makeup applied in the Castle’s Tranquillity Spa. Toastmaster Peter Aust was the consummate professional and directed the day’s proceedings with his usual flair.

The Great Hall looked lovely bedecked in the purple colour scheme by Black Cat Floral Design. Adam was very nervous as Victoria walked down the aisle. He fluffed his lines and made Victoria and everyone and laugh. Mango the owl delivered the rings, he was so content on the best man’s arm that it took quite a lot of coaxing to get him to fly back, which everyone found very  funny. After the ceremony there was just time for a quick group shot before everyone headed over to the Castle’s quaint Chapel for the Blessing.

The wedding breakfast was in the Hexagonal room. Victoria very creatively made all the invites, table planner and table names. Declan the bestman is known for liking a drink and so Adam give a a huge glass boot filled with beer. After the speeches Victoria & Adam cut the cake which was made by a friend. As it was a lovely evening they took the opportunity to have some photos taken with the Castle impressively lit up in the background.

Hipswing Entertainment transformed the Great Hall for the evening reception with an LED dance floor and atmospheric lighting which really added to the mood of their first dance which was to Chantal Kreniazuk’s Feels Like Home. We don’t normally include the footage we get after the first dance in the wedding film highlights trailer, but the dancing was just too good not to include. It was like a 70’s disco dance off between the guys! We really hope you enjoy Victoria & Adam’s wedding film highlights trailer at Peckforton Castle.

Arley Hall is a spectacular venue with enormous character, charm and interest with a warm and intimate atmosphere as it is a much-cherished family home. Set amidst breath-taking surroundings; Arley Hall is an impressive example of a Victorian Country House built in the Elizabethan style. The lavish ceilings, elaborate carvings, plasterwork and stain glass windows create a fabulous feeling of grandeur and add to this perfect setting for any wedding celebration. We love filming there and have had the pleasure on numerous occasions. We have put together a short highlights montage to showcase the Hall at it’s best.

BUN L&KCWe are delighted that Laura & KC’s gorgeous Peckforton Castle wedding film highlights trailer is featured on the fabulous Brides Up North wedding blog today.

A huge thank you to Julia for featuring us again on her fantastic blog. It is also great that Laura mentioned the importance of having a wedding film:

“My top tip for other Brides Up North would be that when you are planning your wedding, plan it for yourself not to please everyone. Remember it’s YOUR special day. Also a videographer is great, there’s so much you miss and parts of my day where a blur due to adrenaline and nerves so it was nice to watch back to fill in the gaps.”

The wedding Film of Ella & Andy at Brympton House

Posted By: Sara
Filed under the category : Highlights Trailers

What’s a good way to make your wedding extra special and has the added bonus that you won’t ever forget the date? Get married on New Year’s Eve! Ella & Andy met while at University and have a big circle of friends who like to party, so what better way to celebrate their wedding than a huge two day extravaganza at the stunning Brympton House in Somerset. We made the journey down with good friends and fabulous winter wedding specialist; Chris & Claire from Chris Hanley Photography. To see Chris’ superb photographs from the day check out Chris’ blog.

The weekend started with all the guests arriving for drinks in the library and a pre-wedding dinner in the Star Chamber. It was a fabulous way for everyone to break the ice, get to know each other and reacquaint themselves with old friends and family. After dinner was a quiz, to make sure everyone was at their best the next day the bar closed promptly at 11pm.

The actual wedding day started with laser pigeon shooting and archery. To say it was a little damp was an understatement. The weather was named hurricane Brympton during the speeches, but all the guest threw themselves into the activities including the bride. It was then back to the House to dry off, get warmed up by the magnificent open fires and enjoy lunch back in the Star Chamber.

Ella got ready with her two bridesmaids in the bridal suite. Ella grew up in Somerset and had sourced all local designers for the outfits. She had Harriet Wilde shoes and her dress was designed by Dean Thomas of Burberry. The Bridesmaids wore elegant gunmetal grey dresses, with long black gloves and vintage Fox fur Cossack style hats. Ella had a gorgeous birdcage headdress and a beautiful blue butterfly embroidered on the underside of her dress. Not to be out done Andy and the groomsmen had Harrison Howard suits. As a surprise they all had their nicknames sewn into the underside of the collars.

The ceremony was held in the diminutive annexe known as the Castle, lit by candlelight and decorated by Bee Floral. A string quartet played as Ella walked down the aisle. As well as a couple of readings; Andy’s brother started a sing-along of ‘Fly me to the Moon’ which everyone heartily joined in. After the ceremony there was a quick throwing of confetti as it was quite cold outside then a drinks reception in the Great Hall, by a roaring fire.

The wedding breakfast was in the spacious and chic Ballroom up stairs. There was an ice sculpture table seating plan that doubled as a Vodka luge. The speeches were quite riotous with many heckles and a very funny bestman speech reading from the fictitious diary of the schoolboy Andy. After the speeches coffee was served back downstairs in the Great Hall, with several guests taking advantage of the Vodka luge.

The evening reception was a short walk across the drive to the Orangery. There was a sweet table, Masquerade masks and DJ. Ella & Andy performed their first dance to Candi Staton’s – ‘You’ve got the love’. We have never seen a groom dance with such enthusiasm, it was brilliant. The dancing then continued with more 90’s classics. When midnight finally arrived the DJ counted down to the New Year and everyone hugged and kissed. Then it was outside for a fabulous firework display overlooking the grounds of the house. A fabulous way to end 2012 and start 2013 with a bang!

Here are a few stills taken from Ella & Andy’s wedding film.

The Wedding Film of Katherine & James at The Belle Epoque

Posted By: Sara
Filed under the category : Highlights Trailers

Tony has known James since they met at college whilst they were studying media and film. James is a broadcast sound recordist and editor, when they graduated they worked together at the same production company before they both went freelance many years ago. They regularly work together on commercials and broadcast programmes, so when James announced he was getting married to the lovely Katherine we knew exactly what to get them for a wedding present!

Katherine & James wanted an intimate winter wedding with just close family and friends shortly after Christmas and they chose the charming Belle Époque in Knutsford which has bucket loads of character. The bad snow the day before was a little concerning but thankfully it had mainly disappeared over night so everyone arrived on time and safely. The guests arrived to roaring fires and drinks in the bar. Katherine dress was designed and made by a local seamstress. The ceremony was in the Pailliards Room. Katherine and her mum walked so quickly down the aisle I was worried that I would miss them. It was a lovely ceremony and they both delivered their vows with such commitment, it was incredibly sweet.

After the ceremony there was a drinks reception in the bar and everyone braved the cold and what was left of the snow for photos in the roof garden. The wedding breakfast was held in the Garden Room. To pass on their good luck at meeting each other, Katherine & James had scratch cards as favours and a few lucky people won. James’ best man and brother Guy took his inspiration for his speech from the Belle Époque and dressed up as a stereotypical French man. Much to Katherine & James’ embarrassment he also revealed their pet names for each other.

After the speeches it was back downstairs to the bar to play black jack and roulette at the Casino, a nod to Katherine and James’ honeymoon destination of Las Vegas. Katherine & James’ first dance was to Ella James – ‘At Last’. The evening entertainment was provided by Hudson, who were excellent. They even got Katherine up singing along. A very special day that we were honoured to be a part of.

Here are a few stills taken from Katherine & James’ wedding film.
